Welcome To Our Practice
Welcome to Lakeview Pediatrics…proudly serving our community since 1995....
We now have flu shots for children 6-35 months old.
If someone in your family has an appointment before the end of the flu season, we will give the flu vaccine then and would like you to bring all of your children who are patients for their flu vaccine at that time. If no one has an appointment before then, please call extension 4 to schedule a flu clinic appointment.
We will post an announcement here once we receive the flu vaccine for kids over 3 years old, and will begin scheduling flu clinics at that time.
New! CPR/First Aid Class for Families - Sunday, September 11, 8:30 am - 11am. We plan to offer CPR/First Aid classes at our office for our families and others who might benefit. We will hold these classes 2-3 times a year on Sunday mornings. Parents and kids over 14 are welcome. We feel so strongly about the importance of these skills that we will share the cost! The cost will be $50 for parents and caregivers of our patients and $60 for any other friends of the family. Feel free to invite any friends and family. Space is limited and all reservations are non-refundable. Please click here for information and signup. Our first class will be Sunday, September 11, 2016. We will have other dates as well!
New AAP recommendation on influenza vaccine
The AAP/ACIP state "Health care providers should not use live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) in the upcoming 2016-'17 season due to poor effectiveness", a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) committee said Wednesday. Based on this recommendation, we will not be giving FluMist this year. We will have flu shots available for all children between the ages of 6 months and 18 years old. Because of this change in recommendation, we anticipate that there may be vaccine shortages and encourage patients to take care of opportunities to get the vaccine at school, religious institutions, pharmacies, etc and then call or fax the information so that we can update their vaccine records.
